Administrator not able to access c:\

I was trying to setup policies for users, and enabled
either "hide acess to drives " or "prevent acess to
drives" choosing C:\ as the one to block. - thinking it
would only block those in the
USERS group.
After receiving the following to try

"secedit /configure /DB secedit.sdb /CFG
%systemroot%\inf\defltwk.inf /log
secedit.log /verbose"

I tried it, but it has not restored defaults. Administrator
is still not able to access the c:\ drive from windows. I
am able to see it in dos, but cannot find a way to access
gpedit to make the changes.

Thanks in advance

Hi cbaltrus,

Although you may not be able to find gpedit.msc (or a shortcut to it) using Explorer,
neither of those settings will prevent you (logged in as Administrator) from running
gpedit.msc.

So, what happens when you log in as the built-in Administrator and run the Group
Policy Editor by typing the following in the Start > Run box (or the Address bar as
found in Explorer, Internet Explorer, and the Taskbar Toolbar; or the Web toolbar
found in all? Office application):

C:\WINNT\system32\gpedit.msc

Or, if you have locked down the Start > Run box and the Address bars, try clicking
the "Group Policy" hyperlink in the following Windows 2000 Help topic titled:
"To edit the local Group Policy object"

And if you have enabled the "Restrict potentially unsafe HTML Help functions to
specified folders" Group Policy and this is preventing you from running gpedit.msc,
repost and include any other pertinent restrictions you have placed on your users
using Group Policy and NTFS permissions.

And, of course, also repost if you can not open gpedit.msc and please include the
exact text of the error message(s).
