I ran into a bit of a fix and was forced to reformat my
computer. I (think) installed everything correctly. Since
the time that I installed Windows (off my CD given to me
by AlienWare) the Administrator account has been signing
in without giving me the option to select my own. I gave
it a password, but then I couldn't get into my system
because it would try to log in without the password,
inform me that it was wrong, and then freeze. After
restoring to a much early point, I am able to get on to
ask for some help. So, I took the password off, and now
I'm asking you guys for help. Has anyone seen anything
like this? I thought the Administrator account only
showed up in safe mode and when you manually typed it
in... yet it logs in for me.
..

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi Chris,

First, clear the autologon. Next, create another user account (if not done already). To clear the auto-logon, use any of these methods:

Method 1:
Click [Start] [Run] type:
rundll32 netplwiz.dll, ClearAutoLogon

Method 2:
Click Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2", and click Ok.
ENABLE "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option, and click Ok.
