I have decided to set up my home pc (windows xp home) with one administrator
and one limited access account. I created a password for the admin account
and logon with it every time I access that account. I then tried to change
some of the settings in the limited account and I am told to sign on as an
administrator. How do I sign on as an administrator in the limited account?

You can't. You are logged on with either limited privileges in the
limited account, or with administrative privileges in the administrator
account.

How does the administrator log on to change settings in a limited account?

If they are system-wide settings, then you use the administrator
account, and they will also apply to the limited user. If they are
user-specific, then you log on as the user. If you are trying to do
some kind of oddball combination of settings, you could temporarily give
that user administrative permissions, sign on as the user, make the
changes, and then change the permissions back to limited.

The most common bug in this area is changing the power options after
making the account limited. For some reason, XP doesn't let you change
the account power settings without admin privilege.

Is there some other setting you can't change?
