Administrator Help

I bought a used laptop and accidently erased something haveing to do with the administrator login. Now when I turn on my computer a box pops up asking for a pass work so I have been locked out of the computer ever since. I don't know what to do?
 
Log in under "administrator", then enter the password you specified when you
first loaded Windows 2000. You can then reset the password for your normal
logon account.
