Administrator doesn't have access to files

Having removed the usergroup Everyone from a share on a
local hard drive on 2000 server, not noticing that the
administrator account only had read only access to that
same folder. I now cannot change permissions on this
folder and the users can only get read only access
What can i do ?

on the security tab click on "advanced" and on the owner tab take ownership
of the file\folder. this doesn't automatically apply permissions to the
file/fodler but then you can apply the relevant permissions that you need,
such as Administrator "full control"
