Hope someone can help. I am the administrator on a
workstation, but when I try to install Macromedia's
Shockwave Player, it runs through the install, then tells
me I don't have sufficient permission to install the
program. I've also tried logging in under the
Administrator account and get the same error. Any ideas?
I'm completely stumped.

Yes, and I'm in there as an administrator. And, as I
stated earlier, I've tried under the
workstation's "Administrator" account as well, which was
also unsuccessful.

Is this computer a member of a domain? I am guessing not. Check that the
administrators group has the proper ntfs permission to the folder where it is getting
installed which they should by default, but you never know. Administrators should
have full control to everywhere. Look in Event Viewer for any error messages that may
help. You could also download filemon and regmon from SysInternals and execute
filemon first just before you try to install it and look in the log for where access
is denied. I am not sure if it may be an IE setting, but you may also want to reset
advanced settings in IE/tools/internet options/advanced to default. --- Steve
