Please help,
Trying to update my bios, downloaded the file to desktop then try to
install. then I get a message "you must have administrator account to
install this file. My problem is, I am the only account on this computer.
(Windows XP Home/SP2). Any advice and suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,

Try it from Safe Mode(F8 on restart) using the default "Administrator"
account. XP Home edition has limits on what other admins can do.

There is some info here.

I suppose this is one of those fancy BIOS downloads, where all you get is
an EXE. When you buy a motherboard and build your own computer, some
of those use a DOS floppy and DOS flashing tool, and Windows is not
used. That has a bit of extra safety, in the sense that no other
tasks are running on the machine while the flashing is happening.
Some companies do provide Windows GUI tools for flashing (Asus Update),
but there is some additional risk of bricking the board by using
that.
