Recently my Admin account had gotten deleted and I only
have access to a limited account. I cant install any
programs or even use certain ones because of the limited
account, and I havent found a way to create a new admin
account or access my old one. Please contact me with if
you have any advice that could help me out.

Thanks Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Which WindowsXP are you running? Home Edition or Professional?

You can't delete the built-in administrator account so this account should
still be on your PC. Boot your WindowsXP.

If you get Welcome Screen click ALT+CTRL+DEL few times (two should do it).
New logon window should come up. Under username type Administrator and for
password leave it blank or any other password that might have been set up
for this account.

If you don't use Welcome Screen then after the Windows boot continue from
here:
Under username type Administrator and for password leave it blank or any
other password that might have been set up for this account. I hope this
helps you out...

The last time that happened to me (in NT), I had to rebuild
the machine, so back as much up as you can. One things that
might be worth trying (after you back everything up that
is) is to boot from your operating system CD and reload
Windows.

Optionally, Depending on how comfortable you are with this,
you could install a new hard drive (at least the size of
what you have, if not larger), load your O/S and
applications there, then connect your original drive as a
primary slave. Once both drives are available, probably as
C and D or as C and E, depending on how you are set up, you
can move your files (but not O/S or programs) from the
original drive to the new drive. Once everything is
successfully copied over to the new drive, you can erase
the operating system and programs, but not files from the
OLD drive. Then keep it in the machine to use for backups
going forward.

Best regards,
Shadowhawk
