to irishprincess,

There can be many administrator accounts on winxp, but there is only
one Administrator account--that is, the original Administrator acct
that was created when winxp was installed. You need to (1) be using the
traditional logon screen (as opposed to the "Welcome screen") AND (2)
you need to know the original Administrator account password in order
to do anything w/ the Administrator acct. Do you know the original
password, or can you obtain it?

Why delete it? It can come in handy if ever any user acct goes bad... it
provides a way to log on to the machine with admin rights... I have used it
to repair/delete/recreate user accts.

to irishprincess,
Do you know the password of the original Administrator account? You
need to know that in order to go much farther....

You should NOT try to delete the default Administrator account. Period. What
would you do if your account became corrupted and unusable for some reason?
Answer - you would want to use the default Administrator account. Leave it!
