Admin User Error

I read an article where it suggested that it was more
secure to log on to your computer as a user without Admin
rights. Something about being less vulnerable when you
are on-line. I created another user account called Admin
(with Admin rights) then went back and changed my user
name (Mike) to a non-Admin user. My plan was to log on
as "Mike" most of the time for security reasons and only
log on as "Admin" when necessary to make computer
changes. I turned the computer off for the night. When
I turned it back on this morning I got and Error window
that said "There is no Registry data for Espon Smart
Panel!

I then tried to close the error window but it would keep
coming back. I then tried to open Windows Explorer using
the shortcut icon I had but on the MS Office Toolbar on
the top of my desktop and it launched Norton System
Works. I tried to print something on the Espon 870
printer and it wouldn't print.

I tried to launch Paint Shop Pro and instead of the
program opening I got a window that said "Browse for
Folder".

I ran Norton AntiVirus and it did not find any virus on
my system. I ran Norton System Works - Win Doctor and
Win Doctor did not detect any problems.

I went back and changed user name "Mike" to be an Admin
user, rebooted and things went back to normal. Is there
a way of changing an Admin user to a Non-Admin user
without the computer going all haywire? Thanks Mac

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Go into Safe Mode and do a
System Restore back to before you messed up your computer. Then if you
want to create a limited user, just make a new one named something
different from the current ones.
