Need help troubleshooting a problem. I have a win xp system with at all the
latest service packs and security updates and I am running Symantec 10.x
antivirus with the latest defs. The reported symptoms are the user can not
get to some websites and the home page has been changed to go.microsoft.com
and can not be changed. I have attempted to run a clean boot on the system
but when i attempt to change anything in the MSConfig program I am told that
I do not have rights to change the setting. I am logged on as the system
administrator so it appears that the Administrators account has been
modified. Is there any other option than reinstalling the OS to correct his
problem?
