The desktop shortcuts are located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Desktop
(<USERNAME> is the user name of a specific user)
The shortcuts located at the first location are viewed on every user's
desktop. The ones in the second location can be view only by that specific
user. So if you want to remove a specific shortcut from your child's
desktop, make sure it is not in any of the above locations
