OK, this is a wierd one. I have been setting up a win 2003 server, and
added the active directory (domain) function. When I connected to the
server with my notebook (win XP pro), it created an admin account on the
notebook, gave it a password, and set the username as just a user
account. Of course now I cannot change anything on the notebook as I am
not an Admin.
Originally the notebook had no users at all. Just the default startup
that took you right to the desktop. I created an account on the server,
then logged into the domain with the notebook, and that's when it did
the admin thing.
Is there any recourse for this? I'm a real newbie with the server stuff.
Is there a default password, or anyway the recover the existing admin
password. I have tried a few resources online, but they tend to just be
after the bucks.
I'd like to keep the notebook as it is, but I know I can just nuke it
and restart the environment.
Thanks,
