Hello,
I was playing with the Security Wizard in A2000, and secured my db, giving
myself and my client Admin rights, and I also set up the User with certain
rights. I saw nothing about assigning rights to the Admin. I also did not
set up a Password for myself or my client, becuase I set up a for a DB user
to Authenticate using his Windows user ID and password and don't want them
to logon twice.
After going through the wizard routine, I closed and opened the DB and was
unable to do anything which required object changed. I couldn't even
repair and compact the DB. It seems as though the Admin has the rights I
assigned User, which were to be able to Open forms and reports and read,
edit, and indert data.
I confirmed that I was loggon as Admin by creating a calculated control
with a controlsource =CurrentUser.
Thinking about it I guess I will need to implement Passwords to identify a
user, but that doesn't explain why the Admin has no rights.
I really don't want to implement Security becuase I know it will be opening
up a can of worms. Can anyone help me with the above and give me a
recommendation on whether to implement security?
God Bless,
Mark A. Sam
