We have a old system with windows 200 installed but we
can't get into windows becasue the previous owner had a
password for the administrator and are unable to find it.
Is there any help with this problem or can we log on with
someone new. What are my options here.??

Connect this Hard drive to an another PC with Windows 2000 installed, then browse the hard drive & delete the following file from this location
(windows 2000 root)\system32\config\sa
then reconnect the Hard drive to the previous computer and login with the blank password of Administrator

for any further details you may e-mail to my E-mail add

Hey,

Ran into the same issue. If you are running AD, place the following in a computer startup script:

Net user Administrator %1

Add that command as a batch file in the computer startup script of the policy. In the "Script Parameters" enter the local admin password you would like to use. This works great for changing the local admin password for an entire domain or OU on a regular basis.

Lots of difficult solutions for an easy problem.
Try this :

Q321305 How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your
Password
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-
US;Q321305

http://securityadmin.info/faq.htm#password

Reboot to Safe Mode, select Administrator, leave password
blank.
Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel and
delete/change the
password.

You do not need to reinstall if you forgot the admin or
any other password.

There is a boot disk you can download at:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html

that will let you reset the password of any account on
NT4, Windows2000 or
XP.

Just follow all the default settings which are for the
admin account.

For an Win2k AD domain controller, you need to do more
than that:
