Adjusting the volume easily

When I single-click the Windows volume control icon that sits in the system
tray, a single small volume bar pops up. This bar represents the system's
master volume. I would like to be able to make the wave volume control pop
up instead because that's the only one that's ever changed. Does anyone know
of any software that can do this, or that provides something along these
lines (i.e., easy access to wave volume control)?

Try right click > open volume control

Try right click > open volume control

As Perpendicular indicated, something simpler is more what I'm looking for
(like a permanently visible slider or something). Thanks.

Best I've found so far, although not perfect for my requirements, is
Volumouse

A. Buy a multimedia keyboard
- and/or -
B. Use Winamp.

The Wonderful Icon lets you togge the volume on/off or reduce/increase
it on a user defined hot key in user defined increments.
This is all vol, not wav specific.
TWI does a few other things also.

Thanks, I'll check it out.
Sound Control is a freeware replacement Windows Sound Mixer applet which
together with most of the features of the standard Windows mixer it also
allows you to add hot keys to adjust any combination of your sound mixer
volumes. Support to control Winamp with a series of hot keys, CD Player
and an On Screen Display is also included.

No worries. I wanted something that didn't require me to either hit a key or
manoeuvre the mouse pointer over an icon to work. I just haven't found a
combination of mousewheel and left, right or middle button that is
comfortable to use AND doesn't interfere with the use of the mouse in other
applications, yet. Hence my comment of it not exactly meeting my
requirements. Other than that it's the best I've found so far.
