Hi,

Where are the parameters to control the time that XP Pro logs users off?
Is it possible to have different time settings for different users?

TIA

Thanks for the try, Tom... I could have worded the question better!

I'm trying to adjust the length of time before the system logs users
off...

So maybe I'm confused. Do you mean actually logs them off, or locks their
account and requires them to re-enter a password to use the computer. If
the latter, maybe you are talking about the screen saver timeout with
password resume. If so, that is adjustable by right clicking on a blank
area of the desktop and selecting properties. Go to the Sceen saver tab
and adjust the wait minutes there. That will only effect the currently
logged on user. To change the timeout for other users, log on as that
user and adjust the setting for them.

OK... I looked at a dialogue box under display properties for the screen
saver, but as there isn't a screen saver in use, the timing option was
grayed out. Is there another box that I should be looking at?

Thanks... I'll follow up on this Friday, when I can get back to those
systems.

Happy New Year...

Might be the power options then instead of screen saver. On the screen
saver tab in Display Properties click the Power button. This will bring
up Power Options Properties. Go to the Advanced tab. There remove the
check from "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" and
click Apply.

OK.

Happy New Year to you as well.
