Addressing email from Contacts

When addressing email, Contacts only recognizes some entries when part of the
name is typed in.

I too, am having the same problem. On occasion I will begin to type in the
e-mail address or name of the party I plan on sending the e-mail to and the
e-mail address will appear. Other times it doesn't and I have to go back
into the contact list, get the address and retype it. That sucks. I opened
the tools, then sending and unchecked the box that had already been checked
to complete the e-mail address, restarted the computer and went back into the
tools and reselected the box to complete the address automatically, hit apply
then okey and it still does not work correctly. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. bobc

it is known to take several (2 or more) emails to the same contact for the auto complete to work.
also you need to enter the first 3 characters of the contact name.

Thanks Mikey, I'll stick with it and see how it goes. Some that I use
frequently do come up, so that sounds reasonable. VISTA was not completely
thought out before putting it on the market. Appreciate your help. bobc

Thanks for the input, I'll keep messing with it. At times all you have to
put in is the first initial and several options pop up. Others you have to
go into contacts and select the address.

know it is extremely irritating
was pointed out during beta, but was not felt import enough to fix at that time.

If I had input to Microsoft, it would be to be forthright about "little"
things that come up in Beta. I spent hours trying to figure out what I did
wrong in "help" screens.

Amazing how much negative the feedback in this forum. When the bugs are
worked out of Vista, I believe it will be better than Mac. Based on recent
TV advertising I went to Mac. Couldn't wait for my son to come get it.
