I emptied my history, cookies, and temperary internet cache to get rid of
the addresses that appear when I type into the address bar area of my IE
browser. They will not go away. Can anyone tell me what else I can do to get
rid of them? I shut off Auto Complete to see if they would go away and they
did, but I want that feature left on. When I turn it back on, they reappear.
What can I do? Thanks in advance for your help.

IE Tools>Internet Options>Content>Autocomplete>Web addresses (uncheck)

This setting will /not/ affect websites listed in your Favorites.

Unchecking Web addresses under Autocomplete does not help, because when you
turn it back on, they appear again. I will explain further. I am using XP
servpack2 with all my updates including IE6. The problem I am encountering
is that I cannot empty the addresses that appear when I type into the
address bar of the browser. The usual way to do this, as I understand it, is
to empty the History folder and cache, but I have tried that to no avail. I
explained below what I have tried to do to rid them. Anymore suggestions
would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Maybe one of these tools will help.
