Address URL "icons"

I've had to restore or recover my HP about 8 times in the
4 months since I've purchased it because of slow Explorer
downloads.

It's up again (for this week anyway!) but now website
icons (like MSN's butterfly) no longer appear in the URL.
Everything has the blue "Explorer "e". Is there a way to
get those icons back? Something under "Tools". Anything?
