Windows XP Pro
Outlook 2003 from MS Office 2003 Pro (totally new installation)
Upgraded Outlook files from: Outlook 2000
created a pst file from Outlook 2000 of each contact folder and of all
folders.
Placed them on my second hard drive.
Uninstalled Outlook 2000.
Installed MS Office 2003 Pro with Outlook 2003
Outlook 2003 does not recognize the addresses in the .pst file when I
type a name into a new document.
What I have done to correct it:
1. read every book I could find at Borders to see if there was
anything in it about this... didn't find anything.
2. tried to think it through so:
a. put the pst file into the same folder as the pst file that Outlook
sees, then removed the original (had them as same name).
b. imported the file into Outlook 2003 using the option for choosing
Personal Folders. Names show under contacts, but do not get put into
the To field when creating new mail message and every folder was
duplicated.
c. imported the file into Outlook 2003 using the option for choosing
"current Folder". Names show under contacts, but do not get put into
the To field when creating new mail message and every folder was
duplicated.
d. deleted the folders from outlook, deleted the pst file from the
file manager, reinstalled Outlook 2003 and it opened with duplicate
folders with no address recognition.
P.S. I can't use the helpline that is listed in the reinstall because
it
tells me that there is an error and gives me a "page cannot be
accessed"
message.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, in advance.
