Word 2003 installed on a new computer with XP home edition.
I click on;
Tools/Letters and Mailings/Envelopes and Labels.

I select the person from my list of contacts but it does not add the title.
Example, Mr. & Mrs. or Dr.

Is there something I am missing, or something you can share with me to make
this work?

Thanks so much for your help,

Roxie

Are you doing a Mail Merge? If so, does the document that you are merging
have said titles? If so, is there a field for it?

No, I'm not doing a mail merge. I just want to print a single envelope, like
sending a letter.
Thanks,
Roxie

Do you have titles in your address book? (Please be aware that I don't use
that feature because I use OE, which isn't supported.)

Yes, I have the titles in both the address book in OLE and contacts in
Outlook.
Thanks,
Roxie

I've just run out of questions. Like I said, I use OE and I'm more likely to
print labels than envelopes.

The layout of the address from the envelope wizard can be varied from
defaults by using an autotext entry called AddressLayout containing the
field descriptions from Outlook that you wish to use. The list of available
fields is described at the end of http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm .
provided the title field is completed in Outlook, something like:

{<PR_DISPLAY_NAME_PREFIX> <PR_SURNAME>
}{<PR_COMPANY_NAME>
}{<PR_POSTAL_ADDRESS>}

saved as an autotext entry with the above name should do the trick.
Experiment with the fields available if you want something different. The
curly brackets merely mark the start and end of the field area and are
present to avoid blank spaces if the fields are empty. They are not Word
fields.

You may find the technique used in the above web page useful and there are
envelope templates to download which use the technique to integrate with
Outlook.

Individual labels and envelope addresses will use the entry in the "Display
as" field in the address book. You will have to add the title yourself or
skip it. Ditto for the Company name. Only Mail Merge allows you to select
fields you want to print.

Thanks for all your help so far, but it still a no go. It seems no matter
what I try or word I put in I cannot get the Title to show up. Any other
suggestions welcomed.
Thanks,
Roxann
