How do I get my Outlook 2007 to give me the authority to delete the Outlook
Address Book (it doesn't appear in e-mail address blocks) so that I can
re-select it. All my options for addressing the issue are greyed out or
non-functional.

You can't. It's a bug in Outlook 2007. You must create a new profile from
scratch in order to do any type of repair to the Outlook Address Book.

Russ -- what do you mean by creating a new profile? I've tried adding
another OAB and it won't let me do that either. And, if you happen to work
for MS, can you tell us when the bug is due for a fix?

Thanks. One more question: my Contacts folder is currently full. If I
delete my OAB in order to create a new profile, will it delete my Contacts?

The Address Book contains no data. It is a view of all the electronic
addresses in those COntacts folders that you have enabled as address books.
Never add or delete anything from within the address book interface.
Removing the OAB service from a mail profile has no effect on the contents
of your contacts folders. You do not have to remove the OAB service from
one profile to create new profile.
