Using Outlook 2002 (SP3 applied) and Exchange 2000.

Information store got corrupted...fresh one was created. Mailboxes were
restored from backups. Contacts were also restored. All Contacts can be
seen. But when attempts to address a new message from the Contacts (or the
Contacts is accessed from anywhere through Address Book), the following
error message apperars :

"The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove
this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help."

Have followed the instructions on KB article 319901 but have had no success.
Is there any other solutions or suggestions.

Many thanks

The instructions given in that article should work...have you restarted
Outlook and/or your computer since you tried these steps?

Thanks for the response. Yes, I have restarted Outlook (many times), my
computer (any other affected users) and the Exchange server too. Problem
still stays.

Have you also tried creating a new mail profile?

OK, let's start from the beginning...list the exact steps you've taken to
try to get the contacts to show in the Address Book (don't just quote the
MSKB article <g>).

Managed to solve the problem.....

For some reason it works when the entries in the Contacts are replaced....
So what we did :

Exported the Contacts to a PST file and copied it back onto the Contacts.
When asked "do you want to replace blah blah blah....." we did "yes to all"
and all the contacts now appear in the Address Book.

Cheers
