Outlook 2003
Even though i have imported all my pst files but i unable to get back the
(up-to-date) address book.
On his old laptop, i only can see the (up-to-date) address book when i click
New Message or i click on Address book icon and i unable to view it in the

May i know how to get the the (up-to-date) address book ?

You should never import from a PST. There's no reason, since you can simply
open it, and importing causes side-effects such as you describe. See this:

Sorry, i didnt state clearly.
My friend has a new laptop and he wants to transfer all of the Outlook &
contacts to the new laptop from his old laptop.
The Outlook and contact is working fine on his old laptop.
After i add all the pst files in Outlook on his new laptop, we discovered
that the contacts were old ones.

I have tried to add "Outlook Address Book" but it prompted that " You cannot
add this address book because it does not contain any names."

Indeed you didn't state clearly.
You still haven't.
State in clear terms how you migrated the Outlook data. State how you
figured out which file to migrate. You appear to have done everything
incorrectly. Since we have no idea what you did, we cannot help you until
you tell us.

i1) check which data files Outlook 2003 uses on his old laptop:
i go to Start, Control Panel, Mails
click on Data Files button and it will display the pst files that used by
Outlook

2) transfer pst files and configure new laptop's Outlook 2003:
i copied all the pst files to the new laptop
i go to Start, Control Panel, Mails
click on Data Files button and Add button
select "Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst)" and click ok
select the transfered pst files.

I also changed the Mail delivery location to one of the old pst file.
i copied all the pst files to the new laptop
i go to Start, Control Panel, Mails
click on Email Accounts button
select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click next
change Deliver new e-mail to the following location to the pst file i want.

Describe EXACTLY the steps you're using to transfer the PST from the old PC
and connect it to Outlook on the new PC.

hi
Since you said that i have opened wrong pst file, may i know how to look for
correct contacts that i need?

On the old notebook, i only able to see the up-to-date address when creating
new message and when i click on the Address Book icon on the Outlook toolbar.

Thanks

The conclusion is inescapable, then. If the pst file you opened does not
contain the correct or current Contacts, you transferred or opened the wrong
file. There is no other explanation.

i will transfer the pst files to a portable hard disk.

transfer pst files and configure new laptop's Outlook 2003:
i connected the portable hard disk to new laptop and copied all the pst
files to c:\emails (new laptop)
i go to Start, Control Panel, Mails
click on Data Files button and Add button
select "Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst)" and click ok

I would have no way of knowing where your data files was. You would have
determined that when you look at the properties of your default data file so
you knew which one to copy. It sounds to me like you just copied all your
PST files. Surely one of them was the right one.

Which one was designated as your delivery location? That's one one that
will contain the up-to-date contacts. That's the one you need to open and
make your delivery location on the new PC.
