Running Office 200, using Outlook 200, SP-3 (ver. 9.0.0.6627).
I've been using the personal address book from the time I began using Office
2000 (now under Windows XP). This evening, while the Contacts list is still
there, current, and everything, the Address Book has now disappeared.
Selecting from the Menu -- Tools|Address Book-- there are no addresses but
now showing "Shared Contacts" and "Main Identity's Contacts." These have not
been there before.
What the heck is going on, how do I get my address book back?

Thanks for helping.

Micheal.

None of this fits with reality. You've left a lot out, I suspect. First, no
one has used a PAB for years. Second, what you are seeing is only possible
with IMO mode of Outlook, which cannot support a PAB. I would guess you are
using IMO mode of Outlook and have disabled sharing in the Windows Address
Book. I also suspect you are accessing the Address Book from OE, not Outlook
when you see. this. Please clarify what you're actually doing.

I've checked and I'm not in IMO mode. Nor am I trying to use a PAB.
How does one enable/disable sharing in the Windows Address Book. I am NOT
accessing address book from OE. I only use OE for newsgroups.

On closer review, it turns out I *WAS* in IMO mode. Reset to workgroup and
all is now well. Thanks a lot, Russ!
Lord knows how it got set to IMO mode. <shrug>
