New computer and using Vista. I used to use Outlook 2000 and now I am trying
to use Windows Mail. I unistalled the old office 2000. When I try to access
the address bood to start adding addresses all I see is a flash of a window
then nothing. If I try the import/export button I get a window with a red x
in it. I don't know if when I loaded the old office 2000 I fouled up
something in Vista that is not allowing me to use the address book.

I had successfully used the Windows Mail Contacts on my new computer with
Vista, when suddenly the same thing happened you describe! No one seems able
to help.......

Yes, in a file I can "read only" so I had old business messages. This all
worked for about 5 mos, then suddenly I couldn't add or edit contacts--just
get the flash of a window trying to open. Now I can't add to the Internet
Favorites (although when I try to add something I previously thought I had
added, I get a message that it is alread on the list; however the list does
not change). Is this a new problem or connected to the contacts problem?

I don't know if the IE Favorites problem is related, but you can
try resetting IE: Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Reset.

Regarding the Contacts problem, the other poster said he had to
remove all traces of Office 2000 before Contacts started working
correctly again.

Thanks. I need to get some info off of the Outlook 2000 contacts before I
try that. I will come back later to give the results.
