Address Book is Blank

This is in regards to Outlook xp. When you open up the Address Book, it is blank. In other words, under "Show names from the:" there is nothing. On our other computers we can choose from the "Global Address List", "Outlook Address Book" etc

If I go to the properties of Contacts, under the "Outlook Address Book" tab, the "Show this folder as an e-mail address book" is greyed out and can't be selected

What next?

Add the Outlook Address Book Service to your profile.

I'm assuming that you mean to go into tools, e-mail accounts, and Add a New Address or Directory Book. I tried this and got the message, "The account you have is not fully configured. It might not work properly until re-configured correctly."

I also went into View or Change Existing Directories or Address Book, deleted the existing Outlook Address Book, restarted Outlook, the went into Add a New Address or Directory Book, chose Outlook Address Book, and got the same message

What next

Once the OAB appears in the list, select it and then click Change to make
sure the Contacts folder(s) you want to display are listed. If any of them
aren't listed, you'll need to enable those Contacts folders as Outlook
Address Books by right clicking the folder, selecting Properties, clicking
the Outlook Address Book tab, and checking the "Show this folder as an
E-mail address book" box. Make sure you restart Outlook after making these
changes.

Have you configured your profile with a mail transport and with an
information store? What exactly do you see when you go to Tools > Email
accounts... > View or change existing email accounts?
