OK, I'm feeling incredibly stupid but I can't get the
address bar to display in explorer 6.0. I have a year-old
Dell with Microsoft XP home edition on it. I've never
been able to figure out how to make the address bar show.
Because I have a dial-up connection and it's very slow I
haven't worried about it but I'm off work on disability
and only have internet access through this computer for
the time being. I need to be able to actually enter a
specific address so I can access my work e-mail and I
can't figure out how to do it. If anybody can help I
would be extremely appreciative. I never had this problem
with my old computer (another Dell with Windows ME
installed) or with my work computer (Windows XP
professional) so I suspect it has something to do with the
set up of this operating system. I would appreciate any
suggestions on how to get the address bar to show. Thanks.

Hi,
Under View> Toolbars, Address bar is checked, right? Right-click on the IE
toolbar and uncheck "Lock the Toolbars." Grab the "handle" on the other
toolbars and move them around- up and down as well as sideways.

If unsuccessful with that, go to http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/ Look for IE
Toolbar fix (under INTERNET EXPLORER - TIPS)

Don,

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It worked and now I can
access my work e-mail. You're a life-saver!
