When I reboot, all the previous web addresses stored in the addresss bar
drop-down menu get wiped. What can I do to rectify this?

Do you have any third-party apps installed that clear IE's History upon a
restart?
Also, using the "Clear Recent Documents" option from the Start menu will
also clear IE's drop-down address list.

I'm not sure what apps would clear Ie's history.

Any program that cleans up your TIF, History, Cookies, etc - like
http://www.ccleaner.com/ or the myriad of other programs out there that
"clean your browsing tracks", security programs, toolbars with loads of
"useful features", programs that "free up disk space", etc. Lots of these
can be set to run at startup.
