it seems i have a url in my address bar for a spyware ad and i can not get it to go away. so instead of getting my msn page in the "big E " internet exployer, i keep getting this silly ad. i right clicked to see if i could delete it but nothing happens. i can still use my address bar ok but it is annoying that i get this ad instead of my msn page. is there some way i can clear out my address bar so that it works properly when i double click on my "E"? thank you for your help.
also please see my update for my sound problem on 12/22/03 under bratzzmom, in windows xp performance and maintenance.. i am sure glad we have a site like this to go to for help and i really appreciate all of you giving us your time to help with our problems.
thank you,
faye

Here is a specific protocol for detecting, removing, and fortifying your
computer against such parasites:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm

The "quick check for the worst offenders" that the page gives is educational
and usually will show you what's going on with your system. I recommend you
then run at least Ad-Aware and CWShredder (see the article for details). If
this doesn't solve the problem, also run HijackThis solely to create a
log -- don't have it fix what it finds yet! -- and post the log here for
specialists to review. When all is over, I recommend you load IE-SpyAd as
recommended on that page, to dramatically reduce the chance of contracting
more of this stuff in the future.
