Thanks for the help, Ross. I would like to avoid Stephen Hui solution
involving editing the registry.
Since MS knows they screwed up big time, I am assuming they will EVENTUALLY
post a general solution rather than a REGEDIT based fix. I reinstalled the
critical updates to insure security and will use the history button rather
than the Address Bar drop down list until MS fixes the problem. As far as
typing in the Address Bar is concerned, I founds a work around by typing the
address in my Google Tool Bar.
