Address Bar work around

Thanks for the help, Ross. I would like to avoid Stephen Hui solution
involving editing the registry.

Since MS knows they screwed up big time, I am assuming they will EVENTUALLY
post a general solution rather than a REGEDIT based fix. I reinstalled the
critical updates to insure security and will use the history button rather
than the Address Bar drop down list until MS fixes the problem. As far as
typing in the Address Bar is concerned, I founds a work around by typing the
address in my Google Tool Bar.

Spoke too soon.

The work around works as I said, BUT MS Word and Excel do no function
properly. So, I went ahead and used the Registry modification option.

As someone else pointed out, if you copy the value directly from Stephen Hui
post you should paste it into a text editor first to remove any extraneous
characters.

The text editor I use is the great FREE "Programmer's File Editor for
Windows NT".
