All of a sudden, I can no longer perfrom an Internet search through the
address bar. I keep getting that "This page cannot be displayed" page.
I've double checked the settings under tools and it's fine the way that it
is checked on the advanced properties tab.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

First eliminate any spyware.

If you are getting a http:///??%searchterm error this can
help.

Regedit:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\URLS
earchHooks

you should have 2 listings
{default} and
{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497}

There was an underscore in front of the second entry.
Rename and there you go!
