After installing then uninstalling Exact Search Bar, my
address bar reads enter keyword and goes to Almighty
Search Engine/overture.com, powered by ignkeywords.com. It
always was MSN search. How do I get back control? There
are 2 anyuser@overture cookies in the program files. Would
deleting these help? Thanks for your help!

See http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/eXactSearch.html for manual removal
procedure. If this doesn't work (and it looks like it didn't), download
Spybot at: http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=download

Deleting cookies doesn't help remove spyware. You have to use their
uninstaller, often found on the FAQ page at their web site, a manual
procedure outlined on an anti-spyware web site, or a tool like Spybot or
some other uninstaller program. One key feature of spyware is that
installation is "normal", but uninstallation is not included as a
feature of the software.

Spyware changes constantly as users learn to avoid/uninstall these
annoyances. Exact Search may have changed recently, making the doxdesk
advice obsolete. Be sure to keep Spybot updated, as you do your
anti-virus software, so that you can find the latest changes in spyware.

And be more skeptical in future. Search www.google.com for the name of
your candidate freeware and see what problems users have in removing it.
If there is a lot of reported woe, avoid this spyware. If ever in doubt
about the terms of use, cancel the installer.

Spyware Alert!

[Much informative reading at this URL - please read all the details].

Normally you could use Lavasoft' Ad-aware or SpyBot Search & Destroy.
In this case, SpyBot only targets this Spyware pest.

Thanks so much for your help! I ran SpyBot and my address
bar is back to normal. I have never checked for SpyWare
before and the list that came up was scary! I have learned
a great deal today.
