Typing any letter in the Address Bar reveals various
information I have on my computer. For example: If I
type the letter "A" in the Address Bar I will get a drop
down menu that begins with my "A:" drive. Various
shortcuts, folders, and other information I have on my
system are shown. I would like to know how to turn this
feature off.

I've already tried turning the Autofill option, and the
various other search options available in the Advanced
Settings...all to no avail....clearing cache and history
doesn't help either....it is also not possible to delete
the links from the drop down menu

I'd appreciate some help on this. Thanks

Try the following:

Tools, Internet Options, General, Clear History. Then select the Content
tab, click on Autocomplete and untick the box 'Use Autocomplete for Web
addresses'.
