Address Bar problem

When I click on my Address Bar in Internet Explorer it
locks up and does not respond to anything.

I have also tried typing in the website in the address bar
and hitting enter and it does not respond at all or even
lock up.

Appreciate any advice on whether this is a bug, whether my
settings need to be redone or if it could be a virus?

This should read "when i click on my drop down button on
my Address Bar it locks up"
