Address Bar in SP3

I remember reading a while ago about XP's Service Pack 3 removing the
address bar from the taskbar. I just installed SP3 here and indeed the
address bar is gone.

Two questions: can someone tell me WHY it was removed, and is there any way
of getting it back - short of rolling back tp SP2?

Has it gone, or has it merely been disabled? Right click your taskbar,
hover over "Toolbars" and see if "Address" is in the list.

I don't use "Address", so I wouldn't notice the difference.

It was removed.
Gone for ever.
Why would anyone need an address bar at the bottom of the screen?

Why would anyone need tray icons?
Why would anyone need the QuickLaunch toolbar with shortcuts?
Why would anyone need their own added toolbars with shortcuts?
Why would anyone need an address bar in Windows Explorer?
Why would anyone need an address bar in Internet Explorer when they
could use Start->Run and enter "<path>\iexplore.exe <url>"?
Why would anyone need a GUI desktop to run applications?

"Why would anyone need an address bar in Internet Explorer"
I just use the address bar on ANY page
