When I delete the history from IE6, the history is
deleted, and the address toolbar history is deleted as
well.... this is good! For some reason though, there are
a select few websites that when you begin to type an
address it automatically appreas. For example:
when I type, www.th .... then www.thehockeypool.com
automatically appears. This doesn't happen for all
websites I have visited in the past, but for some of the
ones I frequently visit.

Whatsup, how do I disable this in IE6?

Thanks, Jim.

I have noticed the very same problem. I delete the
history, and most of the old urls seem to be wiped out.
But, with the Auto Complete function on, some url's get
completed anyway. For instance, it seems like I can't
get rid of one url for Windows Media Player.lnk, and
there are many other I can't figure out how to purge. If
you find out, I would sure appreciate the input. Thanks!

According to Microsoft, these are supposed to be cleared
when you clear your history. However, in article 157729
you can look up on their site, they acknowledge this may
not work. To make up the difference, you have to clear
the entries from the registry manually. I'll not coach
you on this here, but instead refer you to that article.

True, the article doesn't say IE6 in it, but I have IE6,
and it works like that on my machine, and I've tested
it. I however, am VERY comfortable in the registry, but
can't recommend it to everyone. Please refer to that
article.

the problem I still have is that the article says to
eliminate the entries in a folder called.../TypedURLs,
but I can't find that folder in the reg edit folders.
Any tips?
