Hi Mo :-)
Hi
When I type in any URL in the address bar and hit enter
or click Go nothing happens. I think I accidently turned
off something, can anyone help?

Try the following and see if it helps:

Unable to search from IE 6.0 Address Bar

From Internet Explorer click on tools>internet options>advanced. Scroll down
to "search from the address bar" and check appropriate boxes. Another way is
to put the Google tool bar on I.E. Go to www.google.com and click on
"services and tools" then click "google toolbar".

Also, check the Registry to see if this file is there. Sometime during
removal of hijackers or spyware files in the Registry can get corrupted or
removed as well. If not, try adding this line to this part of the registry.

(watch for the wrap, it should be all on one line)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks]

or .......

Restore default Search functions:

In order to restore you default Search functions, download and run the
program below. You will have to redo any customized features you may have
added afterward.

registry entries.

CAUTION: BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST!

Close IE, copy the bold to Notepad, save as Search.reg (save as 'all files',
and doubleclick. Answer 'yes' when prompted to add the contents of
Search.reg to the Registry:

Hi J :-)
None of these worked for me.

I'm sorry, but, you're not giving me much to go on with this response,
without any else to go on. If you are interested in some help, and these
steps did not resolve your problem, then please a open new post of your own
stating all the facts or your particular problem, which version of Windows
you have, and the exact wording of any error messages you are getting. Then
perhaps we can offer some helpful information that will resolve your
problem.

Thank you. :-)

I was strugling with the same issue and tried the search option repair with
no success. I found that WIA was hanging at startup and I was receiving
messages in the event viewer relating to WIA when I was attempting to key in
the url without HTTP. WIA issue for me was due to a scanner driver issue.
