Hi,

If I type a URL or an IP number
my IE6 it says it cannot find it.
But if I click on a favorite, I
can get to any URL in my favorites.
I can ping anything without any
problems from the Dos Prompt.

Any ideas how to get the address
bar working again would be welcome.

Thanks,
Fox

Hi,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

If these programs don't remove the malware, HijackThis should be used to
post a log to the appropriate forum at one of these sites.

I don't believe this is a hijack or spyware issue. I have 3 computers in the
office all running XP Home SP2 with all the updates, virus and spyware clean.
After installing the .net 1.1 SP1 update on 2 machines, both of them
experience the same behavior. However, try typing http:// and hit enter (or
go) and our works. My third computer has yet to install that update and does
not suffer from that issue. Got me. If I find something more, I'll let you
know. I found something simular, but it didn't help me.
