I want to only show the names of the recipients of my e-mails as I was able
to do on my last PC. At present the person's full name & full e-mail address
is visible.

You can't, this is by design.
What you see is not what your recipient sees, ignore it.

thx for the reply Neil. That was what worked on my previous version but
doesn't work in this version of IE. Think Mac is right that it can't be
changed.

If you upgrade to Windows Live Mail, it doesn't display the email
address of the recipient. To upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
