Hi,
Right-click the IE toolbar and unlock it then start moving other items
around. The Address Bar may be hiding behind another toolbar.

If unsuccessful with that, download and run (right-click> merge) the REG
file IEToolbar.reg at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ie/autotkit.htm
Look for this paragraph:
"If that does not help, reset the Toolbar position in the registry using
this REG file."

Hope this helps,
Don

The address bar On my IE6 disappeared even though address bar entry under
the View button is checked. Will appreciate you assistance.

Moving items around (which items?) did not work.
The URL you provided requires purchasing a program that repairs the
registry. Is that what you meant?

it is possible it is scrunched up against another tool bar.
you need to right click , make sure lock is not ticked. and then look carefully for a double wide vertical bar that might indicate the bars are so close together that you cannot see both of them.

F11 made all bars to disappear. F11 made the bars to reappear but not the
address bar

"Grab" the bottom edge of the IE toolbar with your cursor | "Push" it up as
far as it will go | "Pull" it down as far as it will go | Now "push" it up
as much as needed for all toolbar components to display as you wish. If you
then need to rearrange some components, unlock the toolbar by right-clicking
on an empty area of it; lock the toolbar when you're finished.

Hi,
I tried to be very specific with:

If unsuccessful with that, download and run (right-click> merge) the REG
file IEToolbar.reg at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ie/autotkit.htm

*** Look for this paragraph ***
"If that does not help, reset the Toolbar position in the registry using
this REG file."

There is no charge for the REG file.

Well, the same URL yesterday brought a different site which tried to sell
me
A registry repair program.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,

http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, or other appropriate forums for review
by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

down
the bottom border of the bars section which revealed the address bar.

Thanks anyway

Thanks. nothing was scrunched up but I "revealed" the address bar by pulling down the lower edge of the bars border.
