Reset the toolbar setting from Registry using this fix:

[Close all browser windows and apply the .REG script]
Deletes the following registry key; Resets Toolbar,
Addressbar positions to
defaults. Restores hidden/missing bars:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar

Right click near the icons (Back, Forward etc) and a menu will come up. In
the menu will be "address bar". It doesn't have a tick right now so just
tick it and the address bar reappears but you may have to drag it down to
see it properly.

You MUST be joking! It's just a right click and a left click to fix it!
