We just got a used computer and want to clean out contents
in the explore address bar. We did the steps to delete
contents that Explorer Help says to do and cleared history
and nothing happened.

When you go to address bar and click on down arrow you see
a whole alot of http;// sites. How do i clear all that
out?

Thanks in advance.

harry,
Those are in a TypedURLs key in the registry. This article explains the
TypedURLs history:
157729 - How to Clear the History Entries in Internet Explorer:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q157729

For an easier, safer removal method, go to
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
and download "DelTypedURL"

If you type URLs in via File> Open, instead of the address bar, they aren't
saved in the TypedURLs key
and you can keep a select few URLs in the drop-down list.
