Address bar and drop down menu

How can I make IE 6 stop having the places I have visited in the
address bar's drop down? Also how can I have it not try doing an auto
fill in drop down when I type a url into the address bar?

What about the drop down menu that is activated from the down arrow to
the right of the address bar. Is it tied to the history and if I turn
history off to 0 days will it go away?

That is the TypedUrls.
It is tied to history only inasmuch as it will be cleared when you
clear History.
It will not go away if you set history to 0.
There is no setting to stop it being used but you don't have to use
it.

If you don't want to clear history to all the time, you can avoid the
TypedUrls being created by using File-Open instead of entering them in
the address box.
