Address Autocomplete showing Favorites plus mysterious others

I have cleared History, and verified that there is nothing under the 'Today' folder when I click History. Now, when I press the down arrow in the address bar, I get the list of Favorites, but in addition, I get a bunch of links starting with /, such as //www.msn.com. Where are these coming from, and how can I get rid of them?
 
There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
