Apologies if this query is posted in the wrong newsgroup -
not sure where else to post it...
Anyway, recently a problem has developed with my PC, which
I think is Windows XP related - though don't know for
sure. Basically, when I boot up, I get the first 'windows'
window asking for which profile I want to boot up (mine or
my wife's), I choose mine, then windows takes upto 30
seconds to boot, and when it does, first thing I get is an
error message box saying "addpu.exe has encountered a
problem and has to close..." etc, and provides the
usual 'send report/don't send' options. At this stage I
can't send as I'm not connected to the internet. But
either way, after a few more seconds my usual expected
icons/programs appear, and it's business as usual. I don't
know what this addpu.exe is, but it seems to be slowing
down windows booting up - and what other damage it's
doing, I don't know. Any advice/help would be appreciated.
