Additional HD

I had a Dell computer which had MS Windows 98 installed.
I upgraded to a larger HD and add Windows XP to the new
HD. I cannot seem to get the old HD installed in line
with the new HD.

Windows XP will not let me install the old and new HD on
the same system. I get the message "No Operating System
Could Be Found". Any ideas on how to overcome this
problem?

I have tried various jumper pin settings and I designate
the old HD as slave or cable select and either way I get
the same message. Some guy at Best Buy told me BOTH HD
have to be formatted under the XP config.

Have you checked in the BIOS which drive is set
as the boot drive.?

Dell computers use the Cable Select scheme for hard drive configuration.
Both drives should be set to "Cable Select" (provided you are still using
the original data cables) As such which drive is Master and which is Slave
is determined by it's position on the cable. If things are not working as
they are try physically switching the drives position on the data cable.
