Howdy,

Is it advisable to expand many child domain within
the same LAN environment with one DC and Additional DC
configured? Please advise

Never a problem. Do what you want. Why do you want to build a lot of
children?

If you have a REASON for those domains it is ok, but don't do it
just because it's possible.

Each domain should (in general) have two or more DCs.

Setting up the DNS for actual (bushy) trees is more difficult than
most people realize if Internet access (and name resolution) is also
needed.

You must find some way to (effectively) search two hierarchies and
in most cases these will be completely separate namespaces -- that's
difficult to do without playing tricks on DNS.

Kuhan,

While it is possible, it is *often* not necessary. A lot of really good
WINNT 4 Admins fall into this pit. With WIN2000 you can make use of
Organizational Units to 'segment' things the way you want/need instead of
making children domains. I guess that password policies would be a common
reason for having child domains.

As Shawn asked, what is it that you are trying to accomplish?

As Herb stated, the DNS can get a bit tricky. Typically I find that
delegating the name space to the child domain works well. Please check out
