Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to add my Yahoo mail to Outlook? I can't
tell if it's POP3 or whatnot, but it'd be great to have it all togehter,
hotmail and yahoo. Thanks!

Sam K,
Yahoo Accts:
If you a (e-mail address removed) or (e-mail address removed) acct, you will need to pay a yearly
fee to have POP Mail access to that acct. I believe that (e-mail address removed) ,
and several non N. American Yahoo accts still offer POP Access, for free. A
work around is a third party program called !YPOPS (formerly called
YahooPops). I have used it in both OutlookExpress, and several versions of
MS Outlook. Make sure that you read the setup instructions before installing
it. You may need to change some settings in your Mail Accts, in you current
installation of MS Outlook. The latest version can be downloaded at:

Thanks a bunch!!! But... does this mean I can now add my Yahoo account to
Outlook? I can't figure out how to use this program on its own. Thanks!

Sam K,
During the YPOPS, installation process, it should ask you the following:
1. Do you want it to run when windows start, I choose to have it run all the
time.
2. You will then need to make changes in your yahoo email accts settings in
Outlook.
a. Incoming Server: localhost
b. Outgoing server: localhost, or you can use your ISP's Outgoing server
settings, make sure you check the box for authentication. And use your ISP's
Email acct UserID and password for this section.
c. User Acct Name: localhost:110:YahooIDName
d. Password: Your Yahoo Password.
e. On the Advance tab you might change the timeout setting to at least 5
mins.

Now if you use a SPAM filter program like POPFILE or K9, in YPOPS
configuration, under Network tab, change the Incoming Server setting from
110 to 123, and change the setting in Item#2C User Acct Name: to
"localhost:123:YahooIDName" (w/o quotes).

Now every couple of months Yahoo tweaks their email service, and you can not
get mail. You will then need to update your version of YPOPS. The other
thing you might do, if you want things simpler, is to pay the yearly fee for
POP access to this acct. Remember you should only need this program if you
are using one of their FREE accts, not a paid one from them, or another ISP,
that has a contract with them to provide the email service.
